at least can we not take any legal action for issuing out a rule (you can file MFS and get the stimuls and then amend MFJ) on 04/14/2008??? what about people who filed a long time ago as MFJ?? Because once you filed MFJ, the action is irrevocable!?! In my honest opinion, this stupidity of issuing out a clause the day before filing deadline deserves some "stir"!!

One of the ways, I was thinking of to increase membership to the newly created Nebraska chapter is to approach the local attorney's office and get contact information of the pending applicants from them . More targeted approach .

As I mentioned earlier, it is a simple RFE. In addition, Desi has backedup his suggestion with the proof - Just ask your attorney to respond to the RFE. Post back when you get updates, it will help IV community, who are in similar situation and also the members who do not have a proper understanding of statuses.:D

I tend to agree with all the view points expressed here. I don't think we are supposed to know every immigration details (and, I guess, that is what the immigration lawyers are for), but USCIS always will reserve the right to do anything anytime. So, I think, it is better to be educated and over cautious on such matters. It is totally USCIS' fault to issue a wrong approval (if that indeed is what happened in my case-we will find out) and I hope they make amends for it by giving me an expedited EAD and AP so I can rest peacefully (and wait, I don't know, may be another 7 years to get a "real" approval).
TravInd, please let me know the attorney you used in your case, if you don't mind sharing that information. I feel like my attorney is not very responsive.

At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, under the supervision of competent authorities, checks were carried out on the technical state of the aircraft but no abnormalities were found.
Passengers with a valid transit visa were put up at nearby hotels for the night. Also despite the fact that transit visa�s are issued by the immigration authorities, Air France staff mediated the issuance of visa�s which turned out to be a time consuming process. Needless to say passengers were taken care of by the Air France ground staff who spoke fluent English and passengers were also provided with food and water.

Some of us may have advanced to the I-485 stage and have a little more career flexibility but the hanging sword of uncertainty still looms over our heads.
Our angst, our insecurity:
Even with EAD and other options, lack of green card is lack of security and lack of certainty. You know it and you feel it every day. In order to find a permanent fix for the uncertainty, angst and insecurity and in order to snap out of the probationary lifestyle and career, we have to finish what we started over 4 years ago -- get the U.S. Congress to act on this problem and solve it once and for all.
Early effort wins:
The first agenda of next Congress will be immigration and we expect an immigration bill to be debated sometime in early 2011. However, it would be a big mistake to wait until that time to do something about that bill. Successful advocacy efforts are the ones that start early and introduce concepts and ideas into the debate before the legislators write their first draft. Once the committee hearings and debates begin, it is harder to get changes or fixes into a bill because it requires an amendment to the bill in a politically charged and heated atmosphere. Groups and organizations that wait until the last minute to influence members of congress often fail to achieve results. In order to succeed in next year's immigration bill, we have to begin talking to members of congress now. Remember, the advocacy efforts we did with lobby day and rally in Sept 2007 influenced congress to include our provisions in bipartisan bills introduced in Aug 2008. Legislative things take time.
How you can help:
You and help in two different ways:
Join the advocacy effort in DC on June 7th and 8th. (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum85-action-items-for-everyone/1437978-iv-announcement-advocacy-days-in-washington-dc-7th-and-8th-june.html) If you have never done this before, we encourage you to help us with this and join us. Immigration voice will arrange the logistics of setting up meetings and arranging the material for you to take to your Congressmen and Senators. I agree with what you say. Yes, backlogged victims need some justice at this moment, otherwise there it is morally not good for everyone.
1. Why don't we petition first before thinking of Lawsuit. We from IV should write a letter to USCIS stating the injustice brought to the backlogged victims and how it is mentally affecting them etc. We should ask USCIS to consider these things and come up with a solution for backlogged victims instead of threatening DOS and others with Lawsuit. Since we are at their mercy, there is nothing wrong in keeping them higher up and at the same time getting what we want.
2. If the petition did not work out, then we can think about some suit. Still I don't agree with any suit as it is not going to bring justice. By the time the suit clears, you will have your GC in hand.

Is fragomen filing EAD & AP on time?
I have been following up with them to file my EAD renewal since 10 days and today I received a response that they are busy with audit and will do as soon as they can, I don't want my ead application to be delayed, its already more than a week I was eligible to file EAD renewal.

Few of my friends (5) mailed their letters over the weekend. This takes my total to 14 (confirmed). Quite a few have promised they'll mail it, need to track them!!!
