I was just wondering why legal immigration is not generating any interest with the beloved politicians in this country. Inside the mind of these politicians... I guess their agenda is very clear.
Immigration support for illegals = hispanic votes = reelection!
Immigration support for widows = sympathy votes = reelection!
Immigration support for same sex partners = more votes = reelection!
Immigration support for serving the military = Show of patriotism = society respect!
...
...
But,
Immigration support for legal immigrants = what's the use = not a penny worth!!!
Oh God help us!

This is such an open ended question. It will be very easy to answer if you can add few lines about your background, affordability and qualification(like GRE etc). If not the school names will be all over the place from MIT to the ABC University....as the word "Good School" is very subjective.

Doesn't matter if you only live in AZ or not! If you live in the Border Areas (North and South), or are traveling in those areas, it is better you carry it.
I never carry mine and do not intend to unless fit I the above case. I have memorized my A# and that of my spouse and am willing to go thro' to whatever rare hassle that I may face than losing my wallet and having to replace my GC for $370! Futher I do not want identity thieves getting another piece of info about me.

My friends received Green cards in 2007. They live abroad, but make regular trips tho the Us to visit family and maintain their GC.
Unfortunaltely, they recently misplaced their green cards. They are planning a trip to the US this month, for which they have received travel letters from the US Embassy abroad.
Would anyone know what the process is afterwords? We know they have to file I-90s to replace their lost GC. Does this have to be done at the port of entry? Or is it done at a local office on reaching their final US destination?
Also, will they be called for a biometric appointment locally or can that be done at a Port of Entry. Can the biometric be done at a location abroad?
If anyone has any info on this, it'd be truly appreciated.

Hi Gurus
My I-140 petition was denied 2 months back and My attorney is trying to re apply for it. In the mean while there is a query on the company it self and our attorney is working hard to get it cleared.
In the mean while I am thinking about switch the employer.
I am in 8 th year extension and My VIsa is valid until jan 2008.
1.Assuming some comany offered me to apply for I140 and 485 and join that the company, what will happen If I140 has not been cleared before Jan 2008?.
2.What are the pros and cons I should think about when I switch the company.?

Both cards should arrive to the address that CIS has on file for the couple. The wife's departure from the US should not affect this. However, she needs to have the card to return to the US, ideally. Hopefully husband can send her the card.

The expiry date of B1/B2 is printed on the visa. Getting F1 does not invalidate B1/B2. Unless the visa issuer put a stamp on the B1/B2 as "Cancelled", it is still valid!

My wife's finger printing fee was rejected last month even though we sent the correct fee. We sent the fee again.

My wife is MS Graduate with degree in Electrical Engg - wireless specialization.
She switched from F1 to H4 as she couldnot find a job.
Now that she can work from Oct, she is seeking suitable job.
If any of you folks know any consulting/full-time employer seeking candidates, please PM me.
I would greatly appreciate any help that I can get in this regard.

My H1 is expired and i am working in EAD now. I am going for vacation next week. I dont have valid I94 (as my H1 is expired, my I94 also expired), does it cause any problem when i reentry?
