I believe finger print needs to be obtained somehow to varify the person. Hope it is not damaged too much. Why dont you try to obtain a doctor's letter stating that she had some blisters and is recovering? Usually for ladies it shouldn't be much of an issue but just as a precaution. The POE officers are usually good towards Indian ladies, particularly when they travel alone. So dont worry too much.

I came to US with H1 on Apr 2009. My wife who was working in the same company as I do, joined me on Dec 2009 with H4 visa. My H1 has expired on June 18 '10. I have applied for H1 extension much before and currently my status is pending with USCIS. Along with my H1 extension I have also applied for my wife's H4 extension. Her status is also pending.
My company has actually filed H1 visa for my wife for 2011 H1B quota.
I have the following questions, can someone kindly answer the same.
i) If my wife gets her H1 petition approved, should she travel back to my country to get it stamped and for her to work here in US?
Some say she should go back and some say she can start working here with her I797 notice, she can get it stamped whenever she goes to my country. Which is true?
ii) Assuming I get approval for my H1 extension and her H4 extension, should she get H4 extension stamped as well?
iii) Can she go for stamping for H1 as well as H4 in my country, if so which one should she go for first?

Hi,
My brother is in this situation, came on L1 in 2008 through company A (valid till june 2010) and got his H1B approved from company B. He went back to India before Oct 2008 and came to US in feb 2009 on L1 again. He now wants to use his H1B, can he do that and how?

My company changed address while my transfer H1b petition was pending. We moved just across the street from the original location and thus the company did not call USCIS to notify them of the address change because we still had access to our old mail box. Unfortuanately my approval notice was returned back as undeliverable and I received an email to that regard.
The secretary from office called USCIS and had the address changed immediately, its already been a month but we still haven't received the approval notice at the new address...has any one else here has similar experience...how long do you think we should wait before we call the USCIS again ?

I am planning to go to India for emergency purpose. I have valid stampped H1B visa till Jan'2012 with my previous employer X. Now I have been working for new employer Y since Jun'2009. I have got approved 797 and have all paystubs since then. Do I need to go for visa stamping in India with new 797 or I should be able to enter US with my previous company's stampped visa?
Any quick reply is very much appreciated.

So I am in the process of the renewing EAD & Applying for AP for the first time.
I have couple of questions..
do you get Finger Printing for EAD Renewal ?
do you get Finger Printing / Biometrics for first time applying of AP [Advance Parole]

How important is the location of the US embassy for getting the H1B visa stamping ? When applying for my H1B petition in April 2008, my lawyer had mentioned that I would be going to the US embassy in Germany for the H1B visa interview. I'm also aware that I could go to my home country for doing the same. However, does anyone know if I can go to Canada/Mexico, given that I have the visas to go to these countries ? I have a US H4 visa.

My I140 got approve from A company when I was working in company B.( I applied for I140 from company A and left the company after 5 months due to some reason). My approved I140 is still valid as I went to USCIS website and check the case status using EAC number.
This is my 5yr on H1 visa.
My question is:
- Can I transfer my H1 to company C using A company I140 EAC number and get 3 yrs of extention? ( I only have EAC number of approved I140. A company have refused to give me copy of approved I140 as I left the company.).
